The following travel concessions are available to eligible York residents:
Young people
- YOzone card - cheaper bus travel for young people aged 11 to 18 years
- 16 to 25 railcard - reduced rail fares for people aged 16 to 25 years
- 26 to 30 railcard - reduced rail fares for people aged 26 to 30 years
Older people
- national bus pass for older people - free travel on local bus services throughout England
- senior railcard - reduced rail fares for people aged 60 years and over
Disabled people
- national bus pass for disabled people - free travel on local bus services throughout England
- disabled persons parking permit (blue badge)
- disabled persons railcard - reduced rail fares
- blind person's bus pass
Unemployed people
- Jobcentre Plus travel discount cards - available to unemployed Jobseekers Allowance or Universal Credit claimants aged 18 to 24 for 3 to 9 months or to those aged 25 and over for 3 to 12 months entitling a 50% discount on selected rail tickets - visit your local Job Centre office for more information
- Flexible support fund - available at the discretion of Jobcentre Plus staff to help with the cost of travelling to an interview, training or for the first months of travelling to work - visit your local Job Centre office for more information
