We place signs on major roads in the area to encourage traffic to approach York Racecourse via the A64, with further signs within the city reinforcing this preferred route.
Please follow on-street signs to designated free parking and 'drop off'/collection areas.
Leaving York Racecourse
Traffic management measures are in place between 4.00pm and 7.30pm (approx) for racing meetings, except when racing is followed by live music. On these dates the Traffic management will be in place until approximately an hour after the end of the live music.
Please refer to the York Racecourse website for further dates and details.

- Campleshon Road - a one-way system is in operation from St Chad's Church travelling towards Knavesmire Road. Enforcement of Race day waiting restrictions
Our Enforcement Officers regularly patrol the area to enforce 'no waiting' restrictions, from 8.00am until 30 minutes after the last race. You'll receive a parking ticket (penalty charge notice) if you wait or park in these areas during these times.
While no enforcement takes place overnight (from 30 minutes after the last race until 8.00am the next day), cones remain in place to avoid the expense of removing and replacing them. If you've parked in these areas overnight, you must move your vehicle before 8.00am.
