Apply for a secondary school place online
If you applied online, your application result will be available online on your Parent Portal account on National Offer Day, 1 March or next working day. You'll require your username (email address) and password.
If you didn't apply online, you'll receive a letter confirming your application result a few days later.
Guide for Parents
Refer to our Guide for Parents (which contains key school admission information) before applying for a school place.
Supplementary Information Forms (SIFs)
You may also need to provide additional information (such as proof of baptism), or complete a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) if you're applying to a school:
- outside the City of York area, or
- a faith school, such as your local Church of England or Roman Catholic Primary or Secondary school
Check with the school directly if a SIF is required, but always make your school place application to your home Local Authority. The SIF can be found on the relevant Admission Policy page for the year of application.
