Supporting students with medical conditions in school

Our guidance on supporting students in school with medical conditions was last updated in may 2009. Schools were advised to adopt this guidance which is based on national guidance and local agreements with the health authority.

This guidance contains examples of Individual Health Care Plans for children and young people who have long term medical needs as well as Emergency Treatment Plans which are used for those who may need emergency procedures in school.
