World class sport is coming to York; the city has been confirmed as a host for the Rugby League World Cup in 2021.
The Rugby League World Cup is the pinnacle of international rugby league and for the first time, England will be hosting the Men's, Women's and Wheelchair competitions at the same time in a single, celebratory event.
This is a great opportunity to showcase York to the world, as a venue capable of once again hosting a top class event.
Rugby games York will host
York will host both Women's World Cup semi-finals and a number of group stage matches.
The fixtures will be formally announced later this year, with tickets going on sale soon after.
We've partnered with a number of organisations to #LineUp4York and bring the World Cup to the city, including:
- University of York
- York St John University
- Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL)
- York City Knights
