York Jobs, Apprenticeships and Skills Fair
There are usually 4 York Jobs, Apprenticeships and Skills Fairs annually: January, March, July, and September.
The one aimed at school and college leavers, or career changers, showcasing more apprenticeship vacancies, is in March. The next one will take place on Thursday 24 March 2026 at York Barbican, between 1.00pm and 6.00pm.
All ages were welcome from York and North Yorkshire to find out about apprenticeship opportunities and job vacancies, as well as re-skilling and up-skilling.
For a list of upcoming events, go to York Learning or contact us.
Year 11 Apprenticeship Taster Day
Every year in January, Year 11 students in York get a chance to try out different education or training options, helping them to decide on their next steps after secondary school.
On 15 January 2026, Construction Skills Partners will be hosting a Construction Taster Day, at Sisk’s York Central site, where students will be introduced to the many different careers in construction and learn how to apply for apprenticeships and T Levels.
Employer partners: Sisk, Caddick, Simpson, Equans and GMI.
Skills partners: City of York Council, York and North Yorkshire Carees Hub, CITB and York College.
Find more information about construction-related apprenticeships or contact us.
For more information regarding taster days speak to your careers adviser at school or your Head of Year 11.
National Apprenticeship Week
National Apprenticeship Week for 2026 will be Monday 9 to Sunday 15 February.
National Apprenticeship Week is a time for schools, colleges, employers and students to come together and celebrate the contributions apprentices make to businesses and communities.
Many employers and organisations use this week to showcase their opportunities and provide information through online and in-person events.
