Household Support Fund 6 (HSF6) will be open from October 2024 until 31 March 2025.
Recently the Government announced further 6 months funding would be made available for a new Households Support Fund scheme up to March 2025.
Route 1 Invite – Payment to bank account
People of working age who are receiving Council Tax Support, will be invited to apply to receive a payment of £115 directly to their bank account. Customers will receive a letter in November 2024 with some simple instructions to register to receive their payment. These payments are intended to help families with household bills.
Route 2 - Discretionary scheme applications
Any customer who requires assistance with food, energy or water bills and who is not receiving Council Tax Support or is over pension age will be able to apply through the discretionary application route.
All applications to the discretionary route will be through a means tested assessment which will require you to prepare some financial information. You may also be able to apply for exceptional financial circumstances relating to other essentials which will be assessed on a discretionary basis.
Any exceptional discretionary awards will be made on an individual basis as appropriate.
