Regional climate change organisations
Work is being carried out locally and across the wider region to tackle climate change.
Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission
Our Chief Operating Officer, Ian Floyd, is one of only four local authority chief officers from across the region to have been appointed to the Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission, an independent advisory body set up to bring actors from the public, private and third sectors together to support and guide ambitious climate actions across the region.
York Climate Commission
We formed the York Climate Commission in 2020, and have recently hosted a York Climate Commission Re-think Event on 11 January 2023.
The York Climate Commission is an independent body, representing and reflecting the public, private and civic sectors from across the city.
The York Net Zero Building Solutions event took place on 10 November 2021.
