A large allotment site with an active allotment association. A public right of way running through the site gives easy access on foot and bike from York University, Heslington Road and the Fulford Road area.

As this is an open site, individual plots are fenced or hedged, but there are still plenty of opportunities to get to know your plot neighbours. There's a well-stocked allotment shop, award-winning children's allotment, a 'nursery plot' used by school groups and adult beginner gardeners and even a petanque pitch. The Low Moor allotments association website gives details of events and activities.
