Six acres of wet grassland alongside the Tang Hall Beck, and a small wood on higher ground. It is a remnant of old countryside in the town, protected from development by its regular winter flooding.
Wildlife
Birds - Tawny owls hunt over grassland, kingfishers sometimes fish the beck, spotted woodpeckers can be heard drumming on hollow trees.
Animals - water voles.

Easy access gate at Burnholme Drive. Access also from Tang Hall Lane.

Buses
Buses run frequently from the city centre to Heworth Village or Tang Hall Lane.

Parking
The nearest council car park is East Parade car park (approximately 15-minutes away, on foot).
There is a small car park at the Hempland Lane allotments, across the road from the Holme.
You can also use available on-street parking in the surrounding streets, showing consideration for local residents.
