Large play area, owned by City of York Council, with a good range of play equipment.
A basketball court, skatepark, tennis courts and bowling greens are available elsewhere within the park.
There is also a smaller, open-access play area between the larger play area and the bowling greens. This smaller play area has climbing equipment for younger children, and a table tennis table.

Buses
Buses run frequently from the city centre to Bishopthorpe Road then follow signs down Butcher Terrace to the Millennium Bridge.

By bike or foot
Rowntree Park is easily accessible by bike or foot along the riverside or across the Millennium Bridge. The park is equipped with bike racks at the main entrances and also at key locations throughout.
Parking
Rowntree Park car park is adjacent to the park, on Terry Avenue.
You can also use available on-street parking in the surrounding streets, showing consideration for local residents.
However, please note that a number of surrounding streets fall with Residents' Priority Parking Scheme zones
