Household Support Fund 5 - Discretionary

You can use this form to apply for a discretionary Household Support Grant. If you are in receipt of Council Tax Support and under State Pension age,  you cannot receive payment through this form. With the exception of a particular emergency circumstance you wish to claim for.

This scheme will end on 30 September 2024. If your application is successful, the support will usually be a one-off payment. Once a decision has been made you will be advised by email of the expected payment period.

The government require that all councils undertake security checks before payments are made. To comply with this and complete this form, you'll need:

• proof of your household income, including benefits payments
• proof of your household expenditure
• your National Insurance number
• a screenshot or photocopy of the bank statement from the account you wish to receive payment
• your bank account details including the name on the bank account, the sort code and account number

Any claims accepted in error will be subject to recovery action and you may be prosecuted. It is your responsibility to inform City of York Council if your circumstances have changed or if the payment has been awarded incorrectly.
