Temporary Traffic Regulation Order application

This form is to apply for a temporary road or footpath closure, or a speed or weight restriction, in York.

The minimum notice period that our Highway Regulation Team require to approve and process a closure request depends on the type of request you are making:

• for a road or footpath closure, speed restriction, or weight restriction the required notice period is 12 weeks
• for a social or community event the required notice period is 6 weeks
• emergency Temporary Traffic Regulation Order requests can only be made if the restriction is required within the next 5 days

Please be aware that our system will 'time out' after 10 minutes spent on each page of this application. We strongly suggest you gather the required information and documentation ahead of completing the form, as it's not possible to save a partially completed form, nor to retrieve information if the time out period is reached.
