Minster Badge permit

Apply for a Minster Badge permit

If you've not already done so, you'll need to create an account by registering your Minster Badge details in the Permit Portal.

You should register as Customer Type: Resident

You will need:

  • a valid email address
  • your vehicle registration
  • a copy of your current council tax demand, if you don't wish for your council tax details to be checked automatically.

Register or log in to Permit Portal

Once your account is set up, you will be able to apply for any permits which are available for your address.

You will be required to pay for your permit with a bank card at the time of application.

Please allow 10 days before using your Minster badge in Pay on Exit or Pay by Phone.

If you change your vehicle, you're not able to update the vehicle details using the Permit Portal. You must notify Parking Services by emailing parking@york.gov.uk to inform us of your new vehicle registration so your details can be updated. You must allow up to 10 days for the new vehicle details to be added before using Pay on Exit or Pay by Phone.
