Every January, York school sixth forms and colleges offer taster days for year 11 students to trial post-16 options, the next one will be 14 and 16 January 2025. In addition, on 16 January 2025 there will be an option for an apprenticeship taster day with local construction employers. Applications will go live in October and the deadline to submit applications is 27 November 2024(unless otherwise stated). Ask at school for more information about the Year 11 Taster Days.

School and college open evenings
Post-16 'sixth form' schools and colleges in York hold open evenings each autumn.
Year 11 students and their parents/carers are advised to view schools and colleges on their respective open evenings before making an application for a place in Year 12 (though these evenings are open to all students and parents/carers).
