Consultations and engagement with residents take place in a variety of ways, for example, at ward committee meetings and team meetings. These forums also involve decisions on funding in order to allocate the ward budget in response to local needs and priorities.
Acomb Ward priorities
Acomb’s Ward Priorities are to support each and every resident of the ward, these are:
- equality of opportunity - connecting residents to each other and their communities and providing inclusive activities
- affordability in the cost of living crisis
- climate change and environment - improving Acomb Ward and pride in your local area
- health and wellbeing – supporting residents to lead happier, healthier and longer lives
Acomb Ward also welcomes applications for Ward Funding that specifically address the following outcomes:
- reducing social isolation for older or more vulnerable members of the community
- activities for young people, children and families and to support the introduction of Family Hubs
Acomb Ward budget
Each ward has a budget to spend on local priorities.
For 2024 to 2025 the ward budget allocation is as follows:
- £12,384 - ward revenue funding
