You can apply for a range of welfare benefits if you're on a low income, struggling to pay your bills or having other financial difficulties.

Free independent advice and support is available for all residents on social welfare issues including benefits, debts, employment, housing and immigration. If you need further help there are a range of advice and information services working across the City alternatively, get benefits advice from national agencies.

Local advice services

Many local agencies operate a drop in service, appointments, home visiting, and community based advice surgeries around the City. Some agencies provide services on single issues such as welfare benefits, or for particular client groups, such as older people or young people.
