Net Zero Fund Capital Projects
A total of 23 schemes across York and North Yorkshire are set to receive a share of the £7 million York and North Yorkshire Net Zero Fund, investment which has been unlocked by the region’s devolution deal and will be administered by the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority.
Alongside carbon reduction, this investment aims to create a pipeline of net zero projects that will drive economic growth, create jobs, reduce energy costs for businesses and leverage further investment for the region.
York has received funding for 4 capital projects, focusing on street and building LED lighting schemes in York and a heat pump communal heating upgrade for a council asset.
York’s Net Zero Fund capital projects are:
- Alex Lyon House Renewable Heating Upgrade, City of York Council
- Honeysuckle House Heat Pump Communal Heating Upgrade, City of York Council
- Street Lighting LED Conversion, City of York Council
- Commercial Buildings LED Lighting Renewal Project, City of York Council
Projects approved by the Net Zero Fund will support the implementation of City of York’s Climate Change Strategy. These four capital projects are expected to result in more than 1,600 tonnes of carbon emissions saved in the next 15 years.
