Retrofit One-Stop-Shop York

A local partnership group, led by City of York Council, has confirmed an award of £3,371,806 from Innovate UK’s Net Zero Living programme.

This project has resulted in the development of Retrofit One-Stop-Shop to facilitate retrofitting homes with low-carbon measures, improve the householder experience and contribute to better energy efficiency standards across the city.

The platform, YorEnergy has now been launched, giving residents ideas and advice to make their homes more comfortable, energy efficient and lower their carbon footprint. YorEnergy offers a friendly all-in-one service to guide residents through the process of making energy-efficient changes to their own homes.

The project, which aims to eliminate barriers to retrofitting properties with carbon reduction measures, will involve engagement with residents, creating ‘deep retrofit’ demonstrator homes, developing supply chain skills and ways to match approved suppliers and products to needs, and exploring innovative financing methods.

City of York Council’s partners are:

  • Brightsparks Agency
  • Energy Systems Catapult
  • University of York
  • York Community Energy CBS
  • Wrapt Homes
  • Abundance Investment
  • North Yorkshire Council

You can find what other energy efficiency schemes are available from the Council and Central Government on our Home Energy Efficiency page or by contacting the Home Energy Efficiency Team by email at saveenergy@york.gov.uk.
