Planning restrictions for Heslington

On 23 March 2023 we confirmed a non-immediate Article 4 Direction affecting certain properties in parts of the Heslington Conservation Area following a 6 week public consultation between 9 June and 26 July 2022.

Article 4 directives

Article 4 directives restrict development rights in a conservation area to control works that could threaten the character of the area.

An Article 4 directive gives us further powers to control alterations to buildings, including non-listed buildings, which may affect the character or special interest of the area.
