Lord Mayor's Christmas Cheer event
This year's Christmas Cheer event will be hosted by the Lord Mayor of York, Councillor Margaret Wells, and the Civic Party, and will take place at The Assembly Rooms in York on Tuesday 3 December.

The Lord Mayor of York's fundraising committee 2024 to 2025 will be supporting 5 local charities:
- The Stroke Association
- Survive North Yorkshire
- York City Football Club Foundation
- York Rugby League Football Club Foundation
- The Two Riding’s Community Foundation
The Stroke Association support people to rebuild their lives after stroke. They believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke.
Survive North Yorkshire work to help all adult survivors of sexual violence rebuild their lives, relationships and reach their potential by delivering specialist, trauma-informed services.
York City Football Club Foundation support the local community by providing opportunities for physical activity, social elements and enjoyment, as well as creating a pathway for development, talent and competition for all ages.
York Rugby League Football Club Foundation aims to support the development of health, education, community and rugby league across the city of York and wider region.
The Two Ridings Community Foundation enable people who want to give across North and East Yorkshire, York and Hull to set up funds and donate to issues they care about, issues like poverty, children’s wellbeing, and social isolation.
Celebrating fund raising across York
York has a fantastic culture of volunteering with 70% of us doing some form of unpaid work for the community. The Civic Party are committed to support all charities, social enterprises, churches, and faith communities serving the people of York, and welcome all invitations to highlight and celebrate their contribution.
