The Sheriff of York and the Sheriff's Consort, 2024 to 2025
I was born at home on Chaloners Road, York, where I lived until I was 16 years old, before moving to Pulleyn Drive.
I attended Hob Moor Primary School and Nunthorpe Grammar School before going to university in Liverpool. As a student I worked at York Co-Op in the renowned Christmas Grotto, Rowntree Mackintosh in the Polo department and Redfearn National Glass, followed by a 2 year spell at Holgate Road Carriage Works.
In 1984 I moved to London to work in IT for Hoskyns Group, joining NatWest Bank Securities in 1986, and finally WorldPay in 2011, a global payment processing company who process in-person and online payments for businesses, supporting 126 currencies.
Now retired, I am once again a York resident.
My passion is sport, especially football and rugby league, and in retirement I love travelling to new places.
