We're developing a new Local Plan which will replace the current Local Plan. The Local Plan is intended to provide a development framework for the whole city, forming the basis for planning decisions.
Our new Local Plan is currently in the process of examination by independent planning inspectors, following submission of the Local Plan to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government in May 2018.
Following correspondence with the Inspectors, the council confirmed on 11 May 2021 details in relation to consultation on their requested Composite Proposed Modifications Schedule and evidence base submitted since phase 1 hearing sessions in 2019. This forms the third Regulation 19 consultation.
In line with Regulation 19 of the Town and Country Planning Regulations, you can view our Statement of Representations Procedure, which summarises:
- the content of our consultation
- why we are consulting
- our approach to consulting with the public
Proposed Modifications and Evidence Base Consultation
The New Local Plan Proposed Modifications and Evidence Base Consultation is now closed.
Our consultation on the proposed modifications and new evidence to the Local Plan ran from 25 May to 7 July 2021.
The Inspectors considered comments on the Key Evidence and Supporting Documentation in terms of:
- if they make the new Local Plan legally compliant
- if they make the new Local Plan 'sound'
