Getting people involved
All Residents' Associations need more people at some time. These are a few ideas that might help:
- make sure you let everyone in your area know what you are doing
- let them know what they need to do to join you
- make links with other community groups in your area, such as youth groups, play groups, disabled groups
- make sure everyone can come to your meetings - are they at a time parents can come? In an accessible building?
- think about holding meetings which allow people to join virtually - for example via Zoom
- if people don’t come along ask them why, this can help plan future meetings
- let everyone know what you have done, promote recent successful activities
- attend all local events and activities so that everyone knows about the work you do
