Disabled person's bus pass

Renewing your disabled person's bus pass

We’ll automatically renew your disabled person’s bus pass unless it was issued because:

  • your condition has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on your ability to walk
  • you would be, or have been, refused a driving licence
  • or you have a learning disability

In these circumstances, you need to apply again to show you still qualify for the pass.

Change of address

If your address has changed since your disabled person’s bus pass was issued, contact the Concessionary Bus Passes Team.

You can only apply for a bus pass from us if your 'sole or principal residence' is located in our area.

If you’re moving into York and have a bus pass from another area:

  • return your existing bus pass to your previous local authority
  • apply for a new bus pass from us
