77 Flaxman Avenue is a single-storey building in a quiet residential area of Tang Hall, with a large garden which backs onto a park. We’re also near some local shops and pubs, and you can use local transport to visit other areas of York.
Flaxman Avenue gives adults with learning disabilities a welcome change of scenery, and the chance to try new activities and meet new people. Eligible adults can be referred to have short breaks.
High quality, fun and relaxing short breaks are offered at Flaxman Avenue, with its modern, excellently equipped and welcoming spaces.
Flaxman Avenue is run by experienced staff and a registered manager, and is part of our Adult Social Care Service.
Our short breaks are designed to give everyone a much-needed break. Whether that's family and carers looking for respite, or individuals with support needs looking to take a break away from their usual routine. We can welcome guests who may have complex health needs, behaviours that can challenge, as well as sensory needs.
Working in partnership with your family, carer and care professionals, we put in place detailed support plans and risk assessments to meet your needs.
We can welcome up to 6 individual guests who stay in carefully adapted bedrooms with specialised support facilities. Every guest will have an in-depth support plan, so every member of our team knows exactly how to support you.
We support you to make your own choices. This could be socialising in bright, spacious communal living rooms, enjoying the relaxing quiet spaces, or choosing from a range of daily activities. You can also choose to try a range of technologies. These are fun to use but can also support you to live as independently as possible and reach your goals in life.
Our team of skilled, professional and friendly staff that are trained to deliver high-quality, personalised support around the clock in a relaxed atmosphere.
