Tenant and Leaseholder Annual Report: We Think You
As part of our We Think You aim, read more about:
Stock condition survey
In 2023 and 2024 we commissioned a survey of all our properties – we refer to this as a ‘Stock Condition Survey’. The survey is the first time the council has surveyed all of its housing stock in one project. They will be undertaking a visual survey looking at the condition of all the different components of each property from the roof to the boundary; this will include kitchens, bathrooms, windows and doors and heating systems. This gathered will be used to:
- identify the need for any repairs
- plan how and when we need to improve our homes
- inform future investment programmes
Housing Management Pilot
We recognise from survey results and speaking to residents that there are areas where we can offer better advice and support. As such we have reviewed how the Housing Management Officer role works.
The work needed to support tenants when they first move into their home now sits with the Introductory Housing Management Officer and more complex work sits with the Sustainable Tenancy Housing Management Officer.
The Community Housing Management Officer can focus on working closely with their tenants.
We hope that this approach will deliver the best advice and support at the right time and we will continue to monitor our performance in this area.
Engagement Strategy
Engaging with tenants is really important to us. We want to hear your thoughts on our service so that we can find ways to improve and tailor our service to your needs. Therefore, we're reviewing our Housing Engagement Strategy 2024 to 2027 with the Tenant Scrutiny Panel and Tenant Participation Advisory Service.
