Tenant and Leaseholder Annual Report: We Think Community
As part of our We Think Community aim, we're:
- working with our capital work contracts
- raising awareness and understanding of domestic abuse
- reviewing your use and views of Open Housing
- monitoring the Engagement Strategy action plan
Capital work contracts
In 2022 we asked tenants to tell us about the capital work contracts. We asked what was good and what could be improved. We then used this information with our complaints information to write the new contract. We've put some measures in the contract to make sure the contractor meets our standard and to make sure tenants are happy with the work they have had done to their home.
Raising awareness and understanding of domestic abuse
Domestic abuse is unacceptable and can have long standing deep rooted impacts on its victims. Working with colleagues in Public Health, the Police, IDAS and others we have been given funding for a specialist worker to support our response to domestic abuse. Our Domestic Abuse Co-ordinator will be making sure that the way all of our services work provides support for people who are victims and survivors of domestic abuse. We'll be working with residents and partners to develop our response over the coming months.
Reviewing your use and views of Open Housing
Open Housing is the IT system we use to store information about of our homes and residents to make sure we can make the best decisions about how we work and to ensure tenants have access to information. Almost a third of our tenants have registered on Open Housing and are taking more control of their tenancy. They can check their rent account and make payments, email their Housing Management Officer, view any repairs and apply for rehousing. If you haven’t registered yet it’s easy, all you need is your tenancy reference number (this can be found on your rent statement and begins with either 1900 or 60) and access to an email account. Having opened the portal click on Register in the top left of your screen. Follow the instructions, it should only take a few minutes.
Monitoring the Engagement Strategy action plan
We work closely with the Tenant Scrutiny Panel to review performance and to help shape our service delivery. As part of this, the Tenant Scrutiny Panel will monitor the Engagement Strategy action plan at their meetings. They will be asked to let us know whether we are delivering on our objectives.
